Liverpool will step up their preparations for
2012-13 today as the first batch of players return to Melwood to begin
pre-season training.
Those who have not been on international duty during the summer will
return to the club's training complex to start getting ready for the
campaign with new manager Brendan Rodgers.
The players have been on holiday since the last time they saw
Rodgers, when the Reds completed their Barclays Premier League season at
Swansea City on May 13.
Liverpool will move their planning for 12-13 up another notch when
they head off on a three-game tour of North America later this month.
Rodgers' first game in charge will be against Toronto FC on July 21
before the Reds move on to Boston and Baltimore to take on AS Roma and
Tottenham Hotspur respectively.
The Reds' pre-season programme concludes with a friendly at home to Sami Hyypia's Bayer Leverkusen on August 12.
